[로스앤젤레스=AP/일요주간] 플로리다 출신의 한 남성이 유명인사들의 이메일 계정을 해킹해 사적인 정보를 인터넷에 유출했다는 혐의로 고발 당했다고 122일 연방 정부 관계자가 밝혔다. 피해자 중에는 누드 사진이 유출된 배우 스칼렛 요한슨도 포함되어 있다.

경찰은 “해커라치 작전”이라는 이름이 붙은 유명인사 해킹 사건을 1년여간 수사한 끝에 크리스토퍼 채니(35)를 무사히 체포했다고 전했다.

50명이 넘는 이 사건의 피해자 중에는 밀라 쿠니스, 크리스티나 아길레라, 등이 포함되어 있으며, 관계자들은 기소장에 이름을 공개하기로 합의한 이들을 제외하고는 유명인사 피해자들의 이름은 공개하지 않겠다고 밝혔다.

검사 안드레 비로테는 이번 사건이 “사이버 해킹이 심각한 위협임을 보여주는 경고 메시지”라고 전했다.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A Florida man was charged with hacking into celebrity email accounts in a computer invasion scheme that led to the posting of private and revealing information, including nude photos of actress Scarlett Johansson, on the Internet, federal authorities said Wednesday.

Christopher Chaney, 35, of Jacksonville, was arrested without incident as part of a yearlong investigation of celebrity hacking that authorities dubbed "Operation Hackerazzi."

There were more than 50 victims in the case, including Mila Kunis, Christina Aguilera and actress Renee Olstead, authorities said. Others were named only by initials and investigators wouldn't disclose if they were famous, but said victims named in the indictment agreed to have their identities made public. "It helps get out the message that cyber-hacking is a real threat,"

U.S. Attorney Andre Birotte said of the case, describing those who engage in such activity as "scum."
